One Rose Candle

I am a child

I know not time

dance in the light

of unwatched rhyme

within the dark

my candle glows

a flickering flower

of hopeful rose

I am a child

my shadow hides

a force beyond

the moon’s night tides

my fragile fire

encapsules past

and flings it free

to futures vast.
